Executive Summary
The Master of Public Health (MPH) program is designed to prepare competent public health professionals capable of addressing Somalia’s evolving health challenges through evidence-based practice, research, leadership, and policy. The program comprises five specializations: Master of Public Health in Disease Control, Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, Master of Public Health in Nutrition and Food Security, Master of Public Health in Health Systems Management and Leadership, and Master of Public Health in Reproductive Health and Rights.
Strategic Focus Domain I: Theoretical Mastery & Academic Foundation
Advanced public health theory, epidemiology, biostatistics, health systems, policy, One Health, environmental health, nutrition, disease prevention, and health security.
Strategic Focus Domain II: Methodological & Analytical Implementation
Quantitative and qualitative research methods, statistical analysis, epidemiological modelling, surveillance, programme monitoring and evaluation, digital health tools, and evidence-based decision making.
Strategic Focus Domain III: Research Integrity & Professional Leadership
Research ethics, scientific writing, academic integrity, leadership, policy analysis, project management, and thesis research.
